Finally back to Art. Long break after lots of traveling and finally relocating to Australia, Perth, since this year.

Today was a fun day at Fremantle Art Center with an introduction to Pastels. Similar to watercolours, I never really understood the layering process nor had the required patience to understand and apply the medium.

Our teacher Daniela Dlugocz, a German born artist, did a great job in transferring some basic ideas like the required quality of materials, application on different papers, keeping tools (including hands) clean and properly organized, and being tenacious. Pastels will take a lot of patience…
